Board members activate the new course
In an intensive 24-hour session last week, Board members jointly gave substance to the Amsterdam Economic Board's new course.
Amsterdam Economic Board collectively stands for a future-proof economy in the region, where sustainable earning power and inclusive prosperity are better balanced. Where space is distributed fairly and housing is affordable. With a well-educated, healthy population. In harmony with nature and the environment.
Regional strength
The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area is an important engine of the Dutch economy. A region that distinguishes itself with successful, innovative business activity in diverse sectors. That pluriformity lays the solid, distinctive foundation of this region. Therein lies our strength.

Pluriformity also adds to the complexity of the region. A multitude of issues demand our attention. So during the 24-hour session with our Board members, a key question was: where can we as a helix make the most material difference? In other words, on which themes will corporates, governments, knowledge and social institutions collaborate intensively to collectively impact the region?
Healthy, clean and innovative
Board members have chosen to work towards creating the most healthy, most clean and most innovative region through sustainable and responsible:
Close collaboration
A focus on these themes is based on our strengths as a region. While at the same time offering many opportunities for helix partners. We’ll translate the three chosen themes – in dialogue with our partners – into concrete, mission-driven goals for the long and medium term. We’ll connect Board members and other partners in coalitions, in which they will work together towards these goals.
Collective leadership
Board members are committed to sustainable earning capacity in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, within the framework of inclusive prosperity. Working together, through collective leadership. They rise above individual (organisational) interests and stand for the interests of the region as a whole. Each Board member and each affiliated partner takes decisive ownership of one or more of the themes to which they are committed. Because by contributing to the regional goals, they also contribute to the interests of their own organisation.
Join the coalitions
We’ll tell you more about the coalitions soon. Does this pique your interest? Then please contact Cees Loggen.
