Focus: Community, responsible digitalisation
As Community Manager within the Amsterdam Smart City programme, Sophie van der Ploeg is responsible for the growth and further development of the online platform. She also organises (community) events such as Data Dilemmas and is in the lead for the Amsterdam Smart City programme for the Smart City World Expo in Barcelona. Sophie also works with the network on issues within the theme of responsible digitalisation. She connects the right parties and organises working sessions at Demo Days and Transition Days.
Sophie graduated in Political Science at the University of Amsterdam, with a focus on International Relations and Conflict Studies. She then gained communications and project experience at nonprofit organisation Street Child Netherlands and Branding A Better World, a sustainable communications agency.
