Gerty Holla
Coalition Manager
Amsterdam Economic Board
Gerty Holla works with partners on new insights into health and care, towards a Healthy region. Together they help residents in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area (and beyond). By preventing disease, ensuring that people stay healthy for as long as possible, and by reducing disparities in health and life expectancy.
Prevention, startups and health data can contribute significantly to this. As can strengthening the Life Sciences & Health Ecosystem and driving public-private partnerships. For example, in the areas of prevention, startup funding, and the initiatives Health Data Space Amsterdam and Smart Health Amsterdam (now part of Amsterdam AI).
Gerty has worked as an investment manager Life Sciences & Health at various investment funds, including the ROM InnovationQuarter and BioPartner Startup Ventures. She has also worked for the Advisory Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (AWTI) and the Amsterdam Science Park. She is a committee member for the LSH Take Off and Faculty of Impact programmes of the Dutch Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and a mentor at the Ace Incubator.
“Health has an enormous impact on individuals and society. Through smart use of new technologies and innovative collaborations, we can address the major challenges facing us in the health field. Both in prevention & lifestyle, and medical care, diagnostics and drug development.”
