Working with data continues to raise increasingly loud questions about ethical use, transparency, privacy, accountability, ownership and control. Amsterdam wishes to be a pioneer in the proper and acceptable use of data and technology. A group of initiators is now calling on all partners who are involved in creating the digital city to sign the manifesto ‘Tada – Being Clear About Data’, and to take specific measures and to share these with other parties, with a view to the responsible use of data. This should accelerate the development of a ‘responsible digital city’.

Five companies have committed themselves as key partners for the new Master of Science in Digital Design, which kicked off at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) on this Monday. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF), VodafoneZiggo, ANWB, Informaat and DigitasLBi are all set to take on an active role. They will provide the students with projects in which solutions to real-world design problems are sought, for instance, and supervise the students during the design process.
