What is the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area?

The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area has approximately 2.5 million inhabitants. It consists of 30 municipalities in North Holland and Flevoland, which are divided over 7 sub-regions:

• Amstelland-Meerlanden
• Almere-Lelystad
• Gooi en Vechtstreek
• IJmond
• Zaanstreek-Waterland
• Zuid-Kennemerland
