The manifesto 'Tada - clear on data' offers cities and regions tools to deal with digitalisation in a responsible way. In a series of interviews, the Amsterdam Economic Board discusses the importance of that responsibility from different perspectives. This time: Maureen van Eijk, poverty director at the City of Amsterdam.
In 2018, the Board will strive for realizing the initiative ‘Green Deal Zero Emission Stadslogistiek (ZES) in the Amsterdam metropolitan area. Governments, companies and knowledge institutions are therefore working together in order to make goods transportation emission free by 2025.
Our region has many circular initiatives. Circular startups & scale-ups, from property to sharing, circular area development, smart design, etc. All with the same goal; smart solutions for the preservation of raw materials.

The use of data is crucial to staying healthy for longer. With this in mind, the Board wants to mobilise interested parties to launch an Artificial Intelligence Health Lab in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area: a gateway for healthcare SMEs and large enterprises, giving access to data, processing capacity and insights. An active coalition is being assembled to make this happen.
The Amsterdam region is challenging mobility service providers to offer innovative mobility solutions for citizens and employees of companies that are based in the Zuidas business district. The City of Amsterdam, the Transport Authority Amsterdam and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management are organizing a market consultation on the 29th of November, with the goal of innovation within the field of mobility that triggers users to stop using their own cars.
The future for our health in 2025 or even 2040. Can we even imagine it? And what’s the smartest approach to this for the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area? The Board invited a group of 24 experts to confront these questions during the first Health Futures session. This is our first step towards building a clear future vision of health for the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area.
Working with data continues to raise increasingly loud questions about ethical use, transparency, privacy, accountability, ownership and control. Amsterdam wishes to be a pioneer in the proper and acceptable use of data and technology. A group of initiators is now calling on all partners who are involved in creating the digital city to sign the manifesto ‘Tada – Being Clear About Data’, and to take specific measures and to share these with other parties, with a view to the responsible use of data. This should accelerate the development of a ‘responsible digital city’.
