Focus: Making an impact in the energy transition and circular economy
Atef Hamdy works for ROM InWest and has been seconded to the Amsterdam Economic Board as a Strategic Advisor from 2023. He is involved in several projects. Both organisations value mutual cooperation. Atef’s arrival contributes to the exchange of knowledge between the Amsterdam Economic Board and ROM InWest.
Atef studied political science and international relations at the University of Amsterdam. In his career, he held positions in policy research, capacity building in government, strategy development, water and renewable energy diplomacy, and corporate business development.
For example, Atef worked for the Clingendael Institute, the Energy Research Center of the Netherlands (ECN) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), among others. At ROM InWest, Atef developed building blocks for their strategy on energy transition and circular economy.
