Data without Pizza #1 -> the 4 x 5,000 euro edition

Our main goal is to connect healthcare with data science

Medical data is abundant and may be used to benefit the health of future patients. This comes with significant technical, administrative, legal and organisational challenges. Most importantly, doctors and data scientists do not currently always understand each other very well. Or they do not know each other at all. Our group intends to change that to improve medical data science and patient care.

AMDS is back with their famous Data plus Pizza meetings! That is to say, our meetings will be online and without pizza, but with the usual excellent line up!

This edition features:
Cardiology Hospital Admission Risk Predictor
Olivier Witteman, Amsterdam UMC

Followed by pitches by the winners of our seeding grants.

At every meeting we will discuss everything medical data science. This includes interesting projects, papers and the latest developments. This is where doctors meet data scientists and vice versa. It is a great opportunity to learn, meet like-minded health care professionals, researchers and data scientists, get feedback on your own projects and have some fun.

You can still apply for our 4 x 5,000 euro seeding grants!

Amsterdam Medical Data Science is starting a new initiative: we are opening a call for proposals for seed projects. Our aim with these seed projects is to fuel collaboration on medical data science in Amsterdam. We offer four grants of 5000 euros each, thanks to our supporting organizations. This can be used to cover personnel cost, but also other things such as computational resources. Interested? Please submit a proposal before November 27, 23:59 to h.a.drooger@vu.nl. For more details on what the proposal should look like and the constraints, read here all information. The selected four projects will be announced on December 15, the next AMDS meetup.

Please join our Amsterdam Medical Data Science group if you want to be on board!

The data and pizza meetings are supported by The Right Data Right Now consortium which includes Amsterdam UMC, OLVG, Vrije Universiteit, PacMed, Amsterdam Economic Board and Smart Health Amsterdam.
